Images 2026 - Railways in Worcestershire

This lovely photograph, taken by Andrew Smith, shows four-car class 196 diesel muliple unit No.196101 with train code No.1M61, 09.40 Hereford to Birmingham New Street.  Photographed at Great Malvern Station.

Robert Pritchard took this interesting photograph of class 800 multiple unit No.800008 with train code No.2E63 approaching its destination with the 13.39 from Bristol Temple Meads to Worcester Shub Hill   In recent years these five-car IET's have become common on these secondary regional trains. The photograph was taken on 14th January 2026.

There was an unusual working on 25th February 2026 when class 57 diesel locomotive No.57305 was sent to Portbury, Bristol to move two new class 99 locomotives (Nos.99005 and 99006) to Leicester.  The consist was photographed by Robert Pritchard at Tibberton.
