Worcester City v Sheffield United - Saturday 24th January 1959

This game was the first and so far only appearance by Worcester City in the fourth round of the FA Cup. It followed close on the heels of decisive home wins over Millwall and Liverpool and was watched by a crowd of 15,111 at St George's Lane. The Official History of Worcester City FC by Bill Cook and Julian Pugh depicts three pictures from this game from which it is evident that there was not a single inch of available space on the terraces. The game itself proved one hurdle too many for City who were not disgraced in losing by 2 goals to nil against their First Division opponents.
