Chippenham Town v Worcester City v - Saturday 5th November 2005

F.A. Cup - First Round proper

Chippenham Town v Worcester City - 5/11/2005

Almost exactly a year ago these teams met at St George's Lane for an FA Trophy match that saw City run out comfortable 3-0 winners. No such result was ever likely today as a much improved Chippenham team boasted a 100% home record this season.

City started brightly and were soon in front after a fine finish by Adam Webster. Worcester dominated the first half and should have had more goals. The profligate finishing was made to count as Chippenham scrambled home an equaliser in the first minute of the second half. For a time it looked as through the home team tactics of playing the long ball through to their two strikers would give them the lead. City though weathered the storm and created several good chances in the last quarter of the game. Adam Webster saw his shot rebound from the bar and Kelly's follow up was saved on the line.

Honours even then and so both teams go into the Second Round draw.
